I have more than 20 years of experience in creative direction, design, and photography, and I lead the creative team here at minsanchi.
I’m excited to be venturing into the world of surface pattern design. From floral motifs to holiday themes, to geometric shapes, our designs reflect my personality and artistic vision.

Our name, minsanchi, reflects the experiences and influences of our founder Janet Myrmel. She has drawn inspiration from the places where she has spent her life, including Minnesota, where she was born and raised; San Francisco, where she spent time living and working; and Chicago, where she currently resides and makes her art. All have helped inform the design sense, use of color, and love of nature that you see reflected in minsanchi’s patterns. She is also inspired by her present and future, especially her love of travel. Watch for a Caribbean collection soon!
